I have a custom record that is a child record on Items. If I enable

Allow Child Record Editing

it seems like adding/editing/deleting from the Item doesn't fire user event scripts on the custom record - is this true? Do I need to have a UE on deployed on the Item record as well to cover that?

You can either use a UE on the Item or a validate line to fire on the custom record sublist on the Item record
