Clarification - when I say "moves" I mean it moves within inventory locations as the demo is still the property of the company

Fulfilling a sales order will take it off your books/ out of inventory. NOT to another location. I would do a transfer order and fulfill to a customer demo location rather than a sales order.

Thanks Sean - agreed - I believe the units technically need to go to "fixed assets" for demo tracking.. was just wondering if any great NetSuite enhancements to this process had been done since I last incorporated it :)

I like the inventory transfer better because the TO has lots of issues with costing and also I’m guessing posting the receipt into the customer location isn’t going to be well received by the warehouse team However inventory transfer doesn’t give a record to pick and ship from I usually end up automating the IR or using a Custom transaction that posts an inventory transfer. Not a great solution for this natively unfortunately
