we are currently using 3PLs, i have connections via EDI that capture when they are shipping orders, this is brought into NS and i am fulfilling orders they say they ship. am issue i have been running into is they are not fulfilling orders per NS allocation, so in cases where there is an inventory discrepancy and we send them orders they can't fulfill, they are shipping orders that NS does not have inventory committed to and these connections are failing. I know the answer is don't send uncommitted inventory, but let's look past that. Has anybody come up for a solution to this?

We have both Item Receipt and Item Fulfillment in sync between NS and 3PL, with a middleware with a database. We fulfill from a single location. In NS and the middleware we avoid Sales Orders if no inventory is available. Still some issues from time to time.

that's pretty much the system we have in place, but there ends up being some instances where we need to send the SO to 3pl because for instance we have a shipment on the way so we know they will be able to fulfill. I'd love to be able to just not send the orders over, but i don't think that works for us. ideally when we get fulfillment data back from the 3pl i'd like to reallocate to make sure we can ship the order, or totally bypass the the committed qty or something. i don't know if this is an issue a lot of people using 3pl run into
