There are not much differences as people thinks about higher taxes in Canada than the US. Main differences are the Universal Health care, property taxes and universal child tax benefits+daycare subsidy. In USA you have to shell out a big chunk your income on health insurance and Co-pay, in Canada you are covered. Parents get monthly payments based on the family income for each child between 0-18, for lower income families it can be a significant boost (5-6K per child per year). Also property taxes are significantly lower in Canada - as an example I pay about 3K in taxes for my house with a market value of 2.1 Million CAD (real estate price have gone skyhigh š ) in Vancouver area (one of the most expensive places in the world), whereas my tax bill for a 340K worth investment home in DFW was $4200 last year.
