and I want the list to only show active customer. Can I somehow add a condition to not show all customer, or do I need to make a new custom list of active customer and use that?

I think that, by default, it only list active records.

Ok, but what if I want some other filter? Like only customers with open invoice etc?

look into sourcing and filter part (tab) of the custom field record
