Why so? I would love to be able to make after submit UE scripts optionally run asynchronously. Of course there are ways but a tick box on the deployment would be super nice

that sort of 'async' would be nice @michoel what I want to avoid is an async model that burdens the developer and how we write code. Code written in a sync serial manner tends to be the easiest to reason about imho.

In modern JS, `async`/`await` takes away most of those burdens but by the time NetSuite supports "modern" JS it won't be modern anymore

indeed, the mere existence of async/await backs up my claim that sync code is easier to read/write. NS being behind the times is why I use TypeScript and transpile to ES5.
