I tried using your recommendation and it didn't appear to have any effect
this is the issue I'm attempting to fix
both columns are set to 50% but you'll notice the left column taking much more space

@jamespak try adding style="table-layout:fixed" on your table in pdf

@jamespak You have something above the inner table or td overriding that...
Just make one simple table without weird structure... In my experience you work with HTML/FreeMarker code or you work with the Visual Editor... try to mix both thing would make your life miserable...

hm. I tried adding table-layout as both an html attribute and through inline css and neither gave the behavior I was looking for
and yeah, I agree that the visual editor sucks -- I work exclusively in sublime lol
