I've got a client who'd like to display the 'cleared' value of a bill payment on the bill payment screen. I know I can grab that value from the record, nlapiGetFieldValue('cleared'); but I'm not able to make a custom field visible on the bill payment screen

I think nlapiSetDisplaytype is deprecated but the below method works fine.

var field = nlapiGetField ('cleared') ;
field.setDisplayType(type);

type can take following values:  inline|normal|hidden|disabled|readonly|entry

Also, you might wanna know, that you can use this only on field that are scripted (created using script either using form object in UE or Suitlets).

If this doesn't works, the only other option is using native js and html. Although, I always say: "Don't do it if it is not absolutely necessary."
