how do people discover these hidden fields….?

An old trick is to add &xml=T to the URL of a record you are on and it transforms it into a an XML page that you can see all of the fields. Its the exact same thing the "netsuite field explorer" chrome plugin does. You can find all kinds of fields that way but the problem is they aren't supported "publicly" so you use them at your own risk.

@creece that’s a handy trick, thanks

The "Netsuite Field Explorer" will actually first try load the record directly and fallback to
xml=T
. I've found that there are some fields that may not be exposed on a particular form, but do exist if you load the record itself.
