@darrenhillconsulting I think you can get them right now
Setup > Company > Enable Features >> SuiteAnalytics > Next Gen Analytics
d
Ya, beta right? That's cool
e
Yep, then you can load the
N/query
module
I'm not finding the documentation in Help though; I had it sent to me separately in PDFs
d
I think I spotted them in Help .. hence why I asked.
It clearly says beta though ... I'm getting ahead of myself
e
ah, yes definitely beta
but you can also try out the new report builder, which is pretty cool
s
were these features announced at SuiteWorld? I wasn't aware we had new search apis coming
e
I think they were announced at SuiteWorld 17
we were able to sign up for the beta at SW 18
and then they opened up the beta to everyone
s
is it documented under help as 'next gen analytics' or somesuch? I'm curious what improvements have been made
e
I can't find it in Help; I just have two separate PDFs, one for the UI features and one for the new module
(adjusting for data center naturally)
alternatively, if you just enable the beta, you get a completely new and separate search UI (doesn't futz with your existing searches/reports), and you can access the Help PDFs from that new UI
Improvements include vaguely: * Searches and Reports are unified into a single Analytics engine now; no more having two separate concepts * New
N/query
module which looks a lot like the
N/search
module but is new and more betterer? (I haven't played with it yet) * Pivot Tables
s
Ahh, now I recall hearing about this some time ago. Nice that it's actually coming about. Thanks for the description Eric. I'm always a bit wary of 'beta' things from NS though
e
That's fine; I just turned it on in my SDN account so I could mess around with it. I'm definitely not recommending anyone switch to it or start building with the N/query module instead
I know they've also got a charting capability and API in the works for this engine as well
which could be fun
s
I'd be happy with a unified API without the false separation of 'reports' and 'search' that we have now.
