That book is a good resource. I guess yelling at someone across the office pays off in the end 😛 I would say look anything that deals w/ serverside scripting w/ suitelets. I don't have a chapter guide off the top of my head (@mattdahse may be able to give you some better guidance there). What you'd want to look at in the documentation is the N/ui/serverWidget modules which has all the stuff you can use on the suitelet.
