When we received customer payments, we can apply the payment using "Apply Payments" or go to "Record Customer Deposit", What is the differences ?

apply payment = you have some balance to apply payment to; deposit = you have no balance and need to just keep monies on your customer account because, say, you require a deposit before you begin work
