I’ve ticked

ALLOW OVERRIDE

for the names of a certain custom record. However, I don’t want the ID/name field to be editable in the UI (only via certain scripts & workflows). I have tried customising the form and choosing either

Inline Text

or

Disabled

for the ID field, but it is still editable. Anyone got any ideas what I might be missing?

are you the owner of the record? For owners it is always open - as far as I remember. Ask someone else to check

never mind, apparently I had to set disabled on the field called “Name” even though there’s no field with that label. The field with internal ID ‘name’ has the label ‘ID’.

name and Id box has to be checked - otherwise those field doesn't show in the form
