Hi, We created a custom segment to split out sale...

Hi, We created a custom segment to split out sales by region of the world (in our case UK, US, Europe, Oceania, Rest of World etc.). That worked fine and we've also populated all the sales orders / cash sales / fulfilments / returns etc. with the appropriate value. When I run a Netsuite P&L report using the segment. most of the transactions fall into the correct column. However, some transactions show as 'unassigned' in the report. When I click into the transaction they have been assigned and in some cases they look identical to transactions that are categorising correctly. So we're a bit baffled. Has anyone come across this? I'm wondering if maybe the reporting subsystem takes a while to refresh, or whether it's maybe something to do with we're just running the segment at header level (rather than line level).
m
on what type of transaction have you been unassisted? journal entry?
s
Hi Mb, The ones I've looked at have been Cash Sales. (We work in retail so use them a lot for shop sales).
m
But have you assign a custom segment to the line or only on the header ?
s
Only to the header. However, in 95% of cases that has worked fine. For the 5% - some of them look identical to ones that have worked e.g. 2 different customers bought a coffee on the same day, one works correctly in the report and one doesn't.
m
there must be something different between your 2 transactions for it to work for one.. have you tried putting a value on the line for which it doesn't work? If it works you should do a simple wf which copies the analytical header to the line.

Here's a screenshot of one that is showing as unassigned in the report. I can't see any differences with the next one that is correctly going to UK.

Thanks, yes - I did have a look at those before. My example is for revenue and cash sales whereas that first one seems to be explicitly for IF's and COGS so I'm not 100% sure if it's relevant. I certainly can't rule it out though! I think I'll give the reporting the night to do its thing in case its a timing thing, and have another look in the morning. Many thanks for your help
