whats the best practice for temporary disabling a user? have an employee on leave that we want to block sign in for while they are off. just want to make sure when i reenable access their password and settings all remain the same

just inactive the employee
he will no longer be able to connect but when you reactivate him, he will be able to use his password without problem

You can also go to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Users Open the employee record in EDIT mode, go to the ACCESS tab, uncheck GIVE ACCESS checkbox
