Is it possible to download a chart of accounts that includes sub account/parent account information? I need to update our existing COAs with summary information, so I need to identify which accounts are parent.
m
Create account search Criteria : summary is yes Result : id Update by csv with the id of your summary account
r
Don't you need Sub Account of = None in the criteria?
m
if you just need to know which accounts are parent and update just those accounts then the saved search that I propose is good
k
you want to use Analytics for that, not saved search

Thank you for your prompt response. We have discovered that most of our accounts were not marked as summary = Yes/True during the implementation, and we are unsure why. The business team has now requested that we update the parent accounts to summary = yes. However, the only way to identify these accounts is by examining the structure on the UI. I am looking for options to identify them and also need to check if any PO transactions used the summary accounts. I have created a saved search to pull all PO transactions and compared those accounts with the COA, but I still need to determine which of them are summary accounts. Please provide if you have any thoughts/inputs on this. Thank you in advance.
Can someone please respond to this? Thanks in advance.

If they are not marked summary, what then help you to find them? if you have another field, a description that help you then you must isolate them in a saved search as you did.

Like Karina said, click the Analytics tab. From there, you can generate an Account dataset where you can specifically add a Summary filter.
m
You have summary filter too on saved search

IMO summary accounts in NS are irrelevant because everything can be done via custom reports. There is no point to use COA in in other than reconciliation way in NS. But “business teams” usually do not adapt to this new to the approach, I suppose no one stresses it with them and teaches them differently. One of the features of a good implementation is to do just that and push change management while doing system change.

For summary account no but you can create another custom checkbox for the futur parent account , update by csv and create scheduled wf with condition if custom checkbox is true then check summary account box

Can someone please respond to the question posted in the Administration channel? Good afternoon. I have an urgent request. I need to modify a custom accountant role to grant access to all the subsidiaries but with no access to customer data for certain subsidiaries. Is it possible? Your quick response on this is greatly appreciated!
