Hi, everyone. When I try to delete an employee record it gives me an unexpected error. Does anyone know why I can't delete the employee record ..?

Impossible to say with that info. I would start by looking at the logs of any scripts that are running on the employee record. It's possible someone has written code that is running on "delete" that shouldn't. I'd focus on "User Event" scripts and Workflows.

I've seen issues with a Sales Rep who has open orders. What type of role does this employee have?

Would that ^^ show as "unexpected" doesn't it say the employee is on certain records and cannot be deleted?

Honestly, it has been a while and I can't remember what the message was. I does seem like I have seen more generic error messages than helpful ones so far, but I'm pretty new to NetSuite.

Hi, guys, thank you for the comments. I am trying to delete the employee record that I created with my e-mail address. So, basically there are two of my employee records under my e-mail address, but I'm trying to delete one of them.

Wow, this may be tricky. If you have someone else with the proper permissions, I'd suggest logging out of NetSuite and having the other person delete the unwanted record. Do both records have Access?

there is something about an employee record that you cannot delete it even if there are no related records. the best way is to inactivate it and move on

Maybe also try changing or deleting the email address of the employee to be deleted, save record, then try to delete it. I'm just assuming that the duplicate email address is the problem, but that may not be the case.

@John Finlay - no necessarily unfortunately. It is just this weird record of employee acting like that. one of my clients made a mistake requesting to add an employee and withdraw the request next day; there were no configs done other than some employees added, name and email address only. we were not able to delete an employee. i think it has something to do with the email address field, but that is my speculation
