Hi, we're looking for a solution for handling self-billing for smaller vendors (ie freelancers). We want them to be able to log into some portal and in an extremely user friendly way manage their payment settings, submit bills(custom record) to us and follow up on the status. It should generate pdfs for the vendor. The simplest DIY solution I can come up with using the NS vendor center with some links to suitelets that solves the requirements. Any external recommendations?

If you have the vendor center license I suppose that is a very cheap way - otherwise I would strongly recommend an external party - usually covering both in- and outbound einvoicing but with a portal for the smaller vendors (or customers) - Depending on number of vendors/customers etc it may be overkill but it is by far the superior solution, no change management needed when formats change and a smaller vendor becoming a bigger one can instantly be moved to einvoicing. For Sweden there are a number of decent WAN providers, Pagero, Basware etc. - they both have global reach also but there are many other smaller/niché providers as well.

We use the vendor centre. It's free.

Thank you for your response. We don't have any outbound invoices and the smaller vendors are guaranteed to not become large ones. @Luis It is very bare bone. I haven't found a way to publish a dashboard, so no portlet or anything. Just links. Have you created suitelets then to help the vendor?
l
No. We just use the standard one. It's good enough for us and the vendors. We are the customer, so our vendors adjust for us.

I wish that would be the case here... Our vendors are very important to us. But what can your vendors do then? It looks like NS only has support for reporting time and viewing the ap reports?

As far as I know they can see their POs but not much else - at least that is what the base permissions allow - much like employeecenter I would assume some degree of lockdown but he other advanced centers can be 'scripted' at least.
