Has anyone created a way for their warehouse managers to be able to reset user passwords for our warehouse users who do not have access to email or a computer, such as a temporary user or a picker. I created a role specifically for this and stripped it down to the basic permissions, edit on Employee Record and Edit on Employee, I created a custom form and assigned it to this specific role, then assigned this role to the warehouse manager. But when they attempt to use it, it errors and tells them that only the employee directly can change the password. I have tested this with one of our warehouse managers and it works for him, but not another warehouse manager. Any ideas, or has anyone else created a method to allow a warehouse manager to reset passwords. Tried setting up a Custom Record but I am not able to get to the password fields on the employee record, also tried using a workflow, also not able to get to the password fields.

have you looked into suiteanswers #37886 ? also you may need the following permission setup>users and password
t
I did everything that the SuiteAnswers suggested already, but I was missing the setup>users and passwords permissions, I added that to the custom role, seems weird that 1 warehouse manager was able to do it, but another warehouse manager was not able to, using the same role.

Check the global permission of that user who could do it
t
No global permissions are set for the user who can do it, we try to stay away for using that as it can get messy really fast.

that's really weird. Could that be due to reporting structure? Don't know without looking at the system
t
Yes, it is weird, they both report up to the same person, they are in all general purposes identical outside of location and name
