Is there a way to put inventory items on hold without using a sales order? We want to place a qty of items on hold so that they cannot be sold, but don't want to create a sales order for that. Is there a way to do it based on an estimate maybe? Our sales reps are asking for this. What I proposed to them was creating a sales order, but adding some sort of status to it that will not allow it to be fulfilled, and perhaps put some sort of expiration date on it, combined with a saved search to find these types of sales orders, and send an email for ones that are over a certain age so they are not forgotten. This way the items can be committed so they won't be taken for another sales order. Would this be your recommended method to implement this workflow?
