My company is very focused on sustainability and reducing our Digital Emissions and are asking me about purging NetSuite of historical data as part of that. Has anyone else begun addressing this issue yet or have any guidance on what's possible with regards to deleting/archiving old transactional data?

How long have you been on NetSuite? I doubt that legally you'd be able to purge anything less than 7 years (and possibly longer), but consult your own legal advisor on that. There are some data privacy/GDPR features, but as I understand it, they mostly just overwrite the data, so I'm not sure that'd achieve your objectives. Talk to your account rep, I guess, but I'd be pretty surprised to find out there was anything existing or even on the horizon.

We've been on NetSuite since 2013 for some entities with full rollout completed in 2015 so we are at the point where we have data that falls outside of the required retention policies depending on country. I very much doubt this is something NetSuite have thought about addressing yet too and even if they have it wouldn't be mature enough to work fully. It's been a while since I looked at the PI removal tool but when we first tested it out it wouldn't actually remove the address from the supplier record, removed all other data but not that!
