Hi! Have you ever unlocked a bundle? We need to edit a custom field in a locked bundle from our sandbox. Is it dangerous?

Do you mean objects inside the bundle?

Its only custom fields in the bundle. Afraid of losing the data in them

you may break the other things from the bundle - pretty clear and simple reason why the publisher kept it locked.

The publisher was a dev. He didnt want to create the fields in production manually so he bundled them and kept it locked. I can see all the components of the bundle and it is only 10 fields and a couple of custom lists.

so they are not from any suiteapp or NS addon bundles - should have mentioned that, then go ahead. May be your dev guy just wants to make their job secure LOL

if the reason for the publisher is that then go ahead and proceed. Creator of bundle usually does locking when they don't want the fields/record to be modify to omit future errors.

Thank you! Some of the fields are linking to files in the file cabinet. Shall I do a backup of the files ? Dont think I need to but you never know
