Weird situation We have our own ERP. We are using Quickbooks to create the invoice. We have a project to replace QuickBooks with Netsuite, then the whole ERP. Phase 1 is to replace Quickbooks. Today we are using Quickbooks to generate the invoice. We need the items in Netsuite. Later, when we move to Netsuite, we will use Detail Allocation In the meantime, I still need to create the items to import / create the invoice. I'm thinking to create the items as non inventory item and later convert it to items (Assembly, kits, etc) Is it a good solution ?

that may work but I believe you can only convert a non-inventory item to an inventory item and not an assembly item or a kit.

I just convert a non inventory to an inventory item. It worked. Thanks. But you have a good point, will I be able to convert to an assembly item (Finished good), I don't know. I hope so

OK. In that case, is there's a way to create the item Assembly items without the detail allocation and later enable detail allocation ?

If by detail allocation you mean a BOM I believe the answer would be no unless you allow that item to also be purchased.
