yes, you can update either manually or every three hours (systematically). the only two things you can update from source transactions are 1) rate and 2) quantity. Everything else is either manual update of RA or a script

Hi Karina thank you for your response. we are trying to update the start & end date line field and the rev rec rule line fields on the arrangement. With this in mind, is a script the only alternative? we have over 10,000 arrangement to update. Do you know the components for the script ?

yes, for dates it is a script. no, I am functional, not a coder

@Merrick You MIGHT be able to do this with a workflow if what you really want to change is not the values on the arrangement line, but the values on the rev rec plan downstream. But you will not be able to change the start date or rev rec rule, even with a script, if you have any journals associated with that line.
