I have enabled the DROP SHIPMENTS & SPECIAL ORDERS option. And, also in the custom form for items this is ticked to be shown.
Still the Drop Ship Item field is not showing in the item page. Is there any other setting I need to make active ?

For Other Users, if you are facing similar issues, you need to ALLOW PURCHASE OF ASSEMBLY ITEMS.
Path:
Setup > Manufacturing > Manufacturing Preferences > ALLOW PURCHASE OF ASSEMBLY ITEMS
