Come to think of it, I seem to recall hitting that wall myself trying to remove a “create new” button on a sublist of custom records. I ended up having to do something really hacky like hiding it with some javascript that I embedded in <script> tags in an html field.

ha oh well I was hoping to avoid some DOM hacks 🙂
