The problem w/ NetSuite development (100% IMO) is that most of the people writing code are "new" and usually "just a guy that wrote a script or was an admin and now i'm THE guy" and don't have a proper development background. This leads to bad habits and ultimately unreliable and unmaintainable code. Then they try to get "developers" to come in for the cheapest price possible (its a business so thats their goal obviously) and fix their messes or enhance by putting lipstick on a pig. Not to mention hiring NetSuite professional services to write code. They literally put brand new people on writing code. I have yet to see NetSuite professional services code in my years of doing this that isn't absolute garbage. In the NetSuite world its not about "quality" its about "quantity" and "when can I have it done" and "if it ain't broke don't fix it". The problem is when it IS broken its not fixable.
