yep, made that mistake early on this year when i started out doing customizations on our instance. i wrote a map/reduce job to calculate inventory for a csv feed when i later found i could just run a search and save the csv to the file cabinet through ss. and i also wrote a scheduled script to set an option on some records, later found out i could simply use a join in my html/pdf template to get the data i wanted from the associated record.
