Has anyone worked on a white-label build in SCA before? Customer based login, that shows a specific SKU set and has a unique look and feel? Not sure if it's possible in SCA.
s
Where every user has their own personalised experience? Colours, logo, branding, catalogue, etc?
a
No, not ever user. But the goal would be to set up a Wholesaler experience. For example, if I'm Ace Hardware I want the individual Ace Hardware stores to be able to sell online to their customers through a shopping experience like www.acehardware.detroit.com which has the Detroit Ace store logo and inventory that store wants to sell online. That subset of inventory would pull from main catalogue
s
I see. Well if you wanted to all of the experiences to be fundamentally the same but just different domains, logos and items then that should be doable but it would certainly be a bit of a project

• Single SC/A licence with multiple secure domains • Custom theme for each one (presumably) • Separate commerce catalogs and commerce category structure

What parts do you think would not be possible with SCA?
a
The part I wasn't sure about is if you could do it with a single license. The "Separate commerce catalogs and commerce category structure" is probably going to be a good bit of work.
s
It would be a lot of data work, unless you can think of a way to automate it, eg mass updating based on the location of the item
Theoretically, yes, you could do it from the same licence but it all depends on what exactly you want to change between each incarnation of the web store
a
Can one just associate certain item records with a customer and then based on the authentication of that customer just show those item records?
s
Yes. It’s called Personalized Catalog Views

What would be an example of a chance that would then require a new license?
s
Potentially every customer could see different segments of your inventory
• When you want to make a change to the SCA bundle code so that it is different for each deployment • You want to make a change that is in the website setup record • Any other setting (eg on other records) that require you specify a particular web site
‘Web sites’ and ‘domains’ are two separate things
a
Humm gotcha. That's very helpful. I'm sure we're not the first ones that need something like this so I'll have to dig into the documentation on Personalized Catalog Views and see what capabilities are.
s
PCVs are super cool. If you’re coming to SuiteWorld, I’ll be talking a bit about them. But yeah, plenty of stuff in the docs
a
Yea watching vid now 😃
s
And no, you’re definitely not the first to ask these sorts of questions. If you’re interested, reach out to your account manager - they can arrange to discuss with a solution consultant
a
Yea sounds good, I'll definitely do that.
