Anyone using ChatGPT for NS inquiries? Its actually pretty amazing
r
Definitely
s
Can you elaborate?
g
Its Great! The one thing that I would look out for is, when asking it for directions. GPT doesnt know what "Role" you are assigned in NetSuite, so sometimes the directions can be a little off. But you can ask it for different ways to get something done, like running a report.

@Suitestallion ive been using it as a quicker way of filtering information in the Help Center. Example that i just used: "Where do i locate [SAVED SEARCH] for this [SUBTAB] on this [RECORD TYPE] to modify its Criteria"
or even just outright asking how to make specific saved searches

I tried the below stuffs with ChatGPT

https://youtu.be/7gFLGDs4G-w

1. SuiteScript 2. Convert SuiteScript 1.0 to 2.x 3. Technical Design Document 4. Pseudocode 5. SuiteQL 6. Advanced PDF/HTML Templates

I do see people regurgitating ChatGPT on reddit as though they are providing value add, when it really is wrong.

So - probably just worth taking any chatGPT answers with a grain of salt

Well its up to the end user to determine the validity of the information. As you should always do
k
but, if you know what you're doing - you can definitely leverage it for script. you have to really understand how scripts work and your data model to be effective with it.

i create chrome extension with GPT that will let me create dummy transactions..
k
I fear there's going to be a lot of folks that take chatGPT script and have it bomb their NS account and not use it correctly.
s
Its a tool, not a solution
k
But yes - I agree the tool is impressive.
If I were an administrator, I'd defintely talk to that before talking to a consultant first.
just to see if I could save money
l
it not a tool it LLM hahah
s
Its just a mop for a regular person but its a paint brush for a skilled Janitor.
n
Be careful if you're using it to write code. It has a bad habit of creating non-existent methods in SuiteScript, it's definitely a handy tool but one that needs supervising.
s
Yep, it confidently 'makes things up' at times. Can be quite funny!
