Hi, Do anyone know why long term liability account does not show up under account for customer deposit? But it shows up for customer payment ?
k
all deposits are considered short term liabilities, that’s where you find it.
but if that’s where you have it on your BS just create a custom report and remap your deposit account

Hi Karina, I would still need to add an account for customer deposit. The account only shows bank / expense account. Would I need to create e new deposit account?
And a reason we need to use a long term liability account is because we use it for gift card, and customer gift card never expires
k
Hi Ken, you can create an account called Gift Card and set it as LTL type, not a problem. you can create any account you like and map it anywhere. When you say “account does not show” you refer to out-of-the-box mapping, so create your own.
k
we currently have a gift card LTL account, and yes we don't have the option to choose the gift card LTL account on the out-of-thebox mapping
I created a random account, but that account seem to default to a bank account
@Karina thank you for the help but I believe netsuite's customer deposit is only limited to two type of account (Expense and Bank) and I think the only way I can achieve LTL account in desposit is to create a new custom field.
k
when on the account screen creation click Help in the upper right section. It will tell you everything on how to create an account. No custom fields are needed

Hi Karine, apologize for the confusion, I had created an chart account LTL, but issue arise when I am unable to select that account when I try creating a customer deposit.
k
customer deposit account is associated with the payment, not LTL so you cannot pay with an account of LTL type.

What should I do for gift card redeem payment? Our accounting department, require us to use LTL account for any gift card payment.
k
what does this mean “use LTL account for any gift card payment”? do they care what type of account an account is? I do not think so. I think what they are after is about positioning on the balance sheet. I would confirm it if I were you.
