hello team, i would like an opinion on a business case here. my company is a software company with a subscription model. today deals are signed in salesforce and synced to NS through celigo. and then a subscription is created and then billed out of NS. but we would like to add an uplift to our model, but the native option in ns only allows the uplift to happen on renewal. not year over year in the same contract as i understand it. additionally there is a fixed uplift, meaning that every renewal the price goes up by a fixed percent. we would like a variable percent. so year 1 uplift may be 5% and year 2 might be 7%. has anyone had a similar model and been successful and if so how?

Hi @James Maziarz have you tried “Time-based pricing” it’s a little bit more manual but you can define uplift on the subscription line level at the price book level but using the “add interval” option.

I haven't truth be told. I'll have to take a look into that

If your variable percent is not known in advance @James Maziarz ie. CPI-based, then there is no recurring billing system out there that will do it out-of-the-box. You can customize in a variety of ways to perform an annual Modify Pricing change order.
j
@Catherine Fray oh the variable uplift is known. its spelled out on the order send from salesforce. but as it stands when you put in an uplift in NS it has to be the same percentage year over year.
c
In that case I think Emma pointed you in the right direction. You can enter the different years as periods in your price plan.
j
but would it be able to be different customer to customer?
c
Yes - the price PLAN rather than the price BOOK
j
oh sorry i read that wrong. thank you folks so much
