Can anyone assist. I am setting up manufacturing and using average cost. When I complete a work order using WIP I do not see the average cost of the Assembly item being updated. How can the produced cost update the average cost on the assembly?
When looking at the Projected Value on a Work Order Completion the total is Zero. I am backflushing when entering the completion.

Are you looking at the Average Cost at the header of the item master or at the location level?

I am looking at the header level of the item master.

The header level avg cost is like an average of all the location average costs
so the loction average cost should update in "real time" for whatever location you post the WOC in
but the header level is computed on some schedule
I think either nightly or weekly

I don't remember exactly but the Location average cost is the more accurate number anyway
I never trust the header level one

If you are using Average costing for inventory always use the Location Average Cost value on the Item record Locations sublist. On the Item record for Assembly & Inventory items you will need to customize the form to add the field 'Cost Accounting Status'. Then you can see when the recalculation is being performed.
