Our account manager with our NS consultant told us that saved searches will be deprecated, and Analytics Workbook will be the replacement. She said it wouldn't likely happen for 1-2 years. Has anyone else heard this?? Seems a bit drastic.

is it 1st April?
that would be a seismic change
c
Agreed. I find it hard to believe. I'm conflicted, because this person is a wealth of NetSuite knowledge.
s
Not possible.

Are they planning on putting the email functionality into Workbooks? We use that quite a bit. And the persist functionality? And make WBs faster? ha It wouldn't be the end of the world if I was confident they'd fix all these deficiencies in WBs first.
t
We use so many saved searches if they ever announce this, the second sentence better be "all saved searches will be auto-migrated and we guarantee them to work as well as previously"

Well It's reassuring to see I'm not the only one who thought it was ridiculous.

It's not. They want to use Analytics Workbook more and more for reporting (and it's pretty good for that). But Saved Searches are integrated into a zillion things, including most of our partner connections, let alone scripts and workflows. So in a way, they want us to transition, but not actually going away.
s
Deprecated doesn't necessarily mean no more. The bank rec. feature was deprecated years ago but you can still use the old functionality - I do all the time for clearing data conversions and it works perfectly fine. Usually it would mean no more development or enhancements would be made to that functionality.

This will affect applications that use saved searches for integrations - Celigo, Power BI, etc. This will be a huge thing, if they deprecate searches... Ugh.
