Hello All, I am looking for a way to create an excel file that pulls in live data from NS. I don't want to have to export an excel file every time I want to view updated version of the data I am trying to view? Is there a procedure to complete this task? I am new to NS and would appreciate any advice! #C298P0BCK #C5Y8YA27Q

Assuming you want something simple/easy, there are vendors that have already created this solution (e.g. https://www.cloudextend.io/ I think there are a few others, that's just the one I'm most familiar with). I recommend purchasing one of these type of solutions rather than trying to build something yourself. If you want something more complex/hands-on the other option you could look into is the SuiteAnalytics Connect ODBC/JDBC driver thingy. It has an additional annual cost associated with it, but it allows you to connect directly to the database tables. Bit steeper of a learning curve, but if the 3rd party solutions don't get you what you need, that's the only other non-scripting alternative that I'm aware of.

@Kevin Baxter what NetSuite data do you need to see in Excel? Is it the results of a saved search?

Based on my research I have determined that I can possibly used a report and connect it to excel using a web query. The particular data I want to be available in excel is an item inventory list. The list should be updated when new items are added to the company data set. My boss does not want to pay for suiteAnalytics so I was trying to find work around.

Excel web query is definitely an option available to you. You might be able to customize one of the out of the box inventory searches to show only items (or on hand, etc.). You've probably already discovered that a saved search is easier. With 3rd party products like CloudExtend you can put your searches on a schedule from inside of Excel. It won't look for new items added, however you can schedule to run as often as every hour so you'll always have a list of items updates as of the last hour. Depending on your use case you can make this more useful by including quantity on hand, location info, etc.
