We have Advanced Revenue Management enabled and it says on SuiteAnswers ID: 49389 that any billable cost posts to Deferred Revenue account first. Our issue with this is we have billable time and billable expenses for the same customer and we want to create a single invoice. We are unable to because we get the error "transaction includes items that post to revenue and items that post to deferred revenue. You cannot include both types of items on the same transaction." The billable expense in this case goes to revenue but billable time goes to deferred revenue. How can we have billable time post to revenue directly?

you need to have two different transaction, one with ratable rev rec and one with direct.

Yeah you pretty much have no other option but to fake the customer-facing invoice (pdf sent to customer) either through a pdf merger outside of NetSuite or through the deprecated Consolidated Invoicing solution which is really “meh” or just create your own custom scripting solution to produce a merged “invoice” from the actual multiple invoices transactions.

thank you both!

On that note (of deprecated consol invoices) - there is a group invoicing functionality that does pretty much the same thing (exactly same for one customer, there is no parent/child option there)
