Hi all. We have a number of old Purchase Orders that we would like to close out. The first batch are ones that pre-date an "accounting migration" from 3 years ago. These need to be closed out with out effecting Inventory or GL accounts. The second group had bills that were received – and entered as Bills (and expensed out) instead of entering them as Bill Purchase Orders. Same question, what is the best way to close out the PO without affecting GL or Inventory. Thanks!

just hit the CLOSE button on the top of the purchase order.

@Rebecca Thanks Rebecca. that was my thought as well. I just get nervous when getting anywhere near the GL.

PO's are not GL impacting transactions, so you'll be good. 🙂 As for times you need to create a bill without impacting inventory, use an Other Charge or Non-Inventory item - the item will be pointed to an expense account though, so ensure you have a placeholder account or ask where the Controller would like them to land.
