We have a business requirement to defer booking revenue for items until they ship. Has anyone implemented this behavior in NetSuite before?
k
That's pretty standard ARM fare
I'd suggest working with NS or a Consulting group to make sure you get it configured correctly but if that's the only requirement related to it, I'd expect it to be a very short exercise.
n
Thanks Kevin, my initial research led me to ARM. It doesn't look like the feature is enabled on our account, yet though.
Do you know if there is an additional cost associated with it?
k
Yes, you have to contact NS to get it enabled, and there is additional cost.
n
OK
k
There's a couple different versions of ARM, but I don't think they enable the old versions anymore
and with the rev/rec rules changing for most businesses, it probably doesn't make sense to use the old versions anyways.
n
Yes I did see that the "classic" version was not available to new customers. I'm fine with using whatever is the newest supported, just need to understand why ACS didn't bring this up during our initial conversation
k
Can I be blunt?
ACS sucks.
it's better than their standard fare of consultants that they offer. There's often reasons that consulting companies do "rescue" projects
n
Yes I'm learning this now. We've been a NS customer for 3 years, the support has always been terrible. Our AM convinced me that ACS was the solution to all of my support nightmares
We started with ACS in April and they have been absolutely useless in terms of answering our questions or getting best practices. I've found this slack group to be way more valuable.

Buying ACS is like buying a service contract from a car dealer after you discover the car has issues.
c
Yep, NetSuite is not the best implementer of ARM on the market, even though it's their own product
k
@Catherine Fray - disagree wholeheartedly!! 🙂 @Nicholas Penree - talk to me…. has done this process for customer many times to include manufacturing
c
@Karina I'm always impressed by your answers here, but I have had to "rescue" a number of PS ARM implementations including a couple of serious unforced errors so I'm sticking to my opinion :D
