Chart of accounts theme. I'm new to OneWorld implementation and I wonder how companies solve problem of different chart of accounts in different countries. I know that some accounts is dedicated to single subsidiary like bank account, VAT account but anyway the structure of whole chart of accounts is only one. Does the top parent company dictates conditions and provides chart of accounts that it uses in home country and all other subsidiaries must adopt to use it?

There is a functionality to do a different number on the same account in different country/subsidiaries but I am drawing a complete blank on the name of it.

It is called accounting context. If necessary you can have multiple charts of accounts in one NetSuite instance. It is however creates headache for consolidation because you likely want to eliminate at least some of the transactions between sister companies. think carefully about your reporting requirements. There is alway a multi-book to explore.

Multi-book is not a light undertaking either.
