if i wanted to set up a nexus, tax agency and import tax codes, and tax groups for every state, can that be done in a csv import. or is that something i need to do manually

scripting needed. There is no standard csv import for tax codes.

so basically i need to create one agency for each state, and setup each state by going to this page. is that correct?

you will go in Nexus and set up each state, once you do that you can import sales tax table, and it tells you on the top which ones you did, so if you don't follow a particular order, you will know by looking at it, which states are missing

yeah thats exactly what im going to do. one more question: does netsuite actually update these tax codes and tax rates every year, or is that something we have to do manually

we have to do that manually, unless you have avalara or other tax partner
