Will those 1326 accounts be hitting the AP lock? Has this usually posted as expected on closed AP?

Thank you. Yes, 1326 accounts are hitting AP lock. We had a override period close permission in the role, but that is been removed last night and the issue started
I am looking for some solution where the custom role should not have this permission and the accounting team should be able to post even the AP is locked
Is there a way to lock a particular account from posting?
Here is little background. We push invoices from coupa to Netsuite for every 15 mins. So accounting team locks AP during the period close and post a manual JEs for the invoices that are not pushed over to netsuite.
as part of this, they lock AP for not posting any transactions to one particular AP account.
i want to understand what is the industry standard for this kind of process or issue

@NS User - you do not want to post any manual journals into the main AP account so that reporting integrity would be observed and you would have details supporting your total amounts on BS. that’s why locking AP and posting journals are not connected as far as NetSuite considers it. Same goes for AR account postings

Thanks Karina for your immediate response. Could please explain more in detail? My team wants to lock AP and still they want to post manual JEs for that current period. Ex: we lock March and then post manual JEs for the same March period. That is when we receive the error “G/L impact of a transaction in a close period cannot be changed.”
k
@NS User - you can post any journal entries after locking AP transactions - except for posting into your AP account(s) used in your AP module. Usually AP accruals are posted into different GL account, for example

Ok, got it. Thank you very much with your prompt response.
As i mentioned above, we lock AP as part of the period close activity and then post manual JEs for the bills that are not created/missed from coupa invoice integration. So when we try to post those manual JE that are posting into AP accounts is when it is throwing the error. It seems a standard error only, but I would like to know if there is a solution to fix our problem. Any suggestions/advise can be greatly helpful. Thank you very much

These journals you mention are for accrued AP. Other companies, in fact vast majority of them never use the same account for AP accruals as they do for AP posting invoices. This is done to keep reporting (AP Aging) integrity. I suggest using different account for AP accruals from your regular AP account where you post your actual invoices

ok, 👍
if we use a different AP account for posting these accrued AP then would it not be locked when we lock AP?
