Hi, I see a weird behavior that I cannot explain: In our accounting preferences Create and Maintain Revenue Element upon Closed Order is ticked as yes Answer Id: 75843 If the Create And Maintain Revenue Element Upon Closed Order = True: • Closing the Sales Order would not have any effect on the Revenue Elements in the Revenue Arrangement.  • When this preference is checked, the Revenue Element is not updated when a line on a Sales Order is closed after the revenue element has been created. You must create a journal entry to correct the deferred revenue. I recall from previous tests were that no Revenue Arrangements were created for SO that were closed, but now they seem to create on closed sales orders. There is no clear documentation on this. From your experience, do you expect to see revenue arrangements get created on closed Sales Orders (given that the preference Create and Maintain Revenue Element upon Closed Order is ticked as yes)

AFAIK If it isn't closed on create, revenue arrangement will be created, just that the revenue element isn't updated until someone hits the Transactions>Financial>Update Revenue Arrangements and Revenue Plans
The gap that I have, or that I get is when the sales order get's changed and suppose the sales order line is closed, the actual revenue plan doesnt get put on hold revenue recognition. For me that doesnt make sense.
From what you're describing I feel like what you want is create and maintain revenue element to be false, but I could be wrong

thanks

I dont use VSOE but I feel like whoever designed the ARM module has a problem, like whats the actual point of revenue arrangement, do people actually use the forecast? From my testing RA is ALWAYS created, as long as you have so and the line item is ticked to run rev rec
