Does anyone have any creative 'hacks' for generating French GAAP compliant FEC reports without having to enable Multi Book? We have a small operation in France and are required to generate FEC reports with the relevant GAAP postings which we currently don't post in our system. When we previously looked into Multi Book we were advised against it given our requirements were so small but not really given any advise of how to still meet the French authorities requirements!

Could you use a custom JE type Posting transaction - post the amounts as zero - and utilize a custom column for the french amount - and bring it into your financial reports that way?
Kind of hackey - and someone might look at you cross eyed, but would be a way to do it without purchasing multibook while keeping your financials intact the way you currently present them.

It wouldn't pull into the FEC report and I believe that I actually have to provide the accountants with the .txt file that's generated when you run that report rather than a custom report but I can check on that. The French are so particular!

I've run the FEC. It is a drag. why is multi-book a requirement on your end?

We have postings that we have not previously made into NetSuite to adjust our French numbers to French GAAP that we are being told now have to be in a system to be compliant. I need someway of booking them to get the FEC report out as needed but to not effect how we would normally report our books. Theoretically that would be Multi Book accounting but given the size of the operation in France it's not something we really want to turn on unless we have no other choice.

@swojnicz - hey, Adjustment Only book is available for free aka included, use that for your journals

I think it works for the journals but not to actually generate the FEC report. It doesn't look like you can actually generate the consolidated view in a single report. The two books would need to export separately and so then it's a matter of if that's acceptable to the French Authorities (probably not!). Thanks for your help anyway.

I am not sure what FEC report is but you can create reports and searches on Primary + Adj book. The whole premise of Adj book is to see different financials in the same currency without incurring additional expense.

FEC is part of the SuiteApp for Audit Files
