Hi all! What is the difference if I create a custom list or a custom segment with no GL impact? Use case is just a simple categorization to follow eg. Business sector.

Not the ONLY difference, but one to think about is the impact to financial reports. Custom Segment lets you create a columnar view of your balance sheet or P&L based on that attribute the same way you can for dept/class/location/sub/accountingperiod

You should note - that custom segments are not equal to standard segments. They have come a long way, but they aren't perfect.
