Whats the difference between using billing schedules vs installments for customers?

Billing schedules are used to mandate schedule of invoice creation. You can still create 1 payment for all the invoices. Installments pertain to multiple customer payments

Primary difference - billing schedule you hit revenue and A/R on an intermittent basis. Installment plans you hit it all up front.

Only thing installments does over a standard invoice is make it so you can track aging for payments due.
