Is it possible to create nested categories in reports for various accounts? Say I want account 1000 to 5000 under a category called XXX, and I want that with perhaps parent category that encompasses other accounts. Etc.

They have to all be the same account type, but you can use parent accounts. Alternatively you can do a custom layout on your financial statements
