what's the issue? how far does it go (i.e. is this the first month of "struggling")?

Hey @Karina - we implemented Netsuite Apr 2017. Bank reconciliation works month to month fine. There are 2-3 entries from 2017 ( Accts receivables and payables mostly) that we can't seem to reconcile and figure out where they came from and where they go! If someone with accounting know how and Netsuite knowledge looked through them, I'm certain they can figure it out.

Are you sure those are AP and AR postings? Usually what you see in the bank recon are bank postings (deposits and withdrawals to/from the bank account). Have you clicked on those lines in question or did a search to see from where these items came?

You are absolutely right. When we went live in April 2017, we entered all the AR items from previous ERP into Netsuite. And as we received payments, those became deposits and we received the $ in the bank. There were 1 or 2 that went into collections and got partially paid and that's where it came off track. And there was an accountant that looked at it and couldn't explain it. So he added a journal entry. And every since we've had a few lingering things.
We've also had an employee who was not-so-good at her job of entering bills and creating invoices, deposits etc. So between this, the above and an external accountant who knows nothing about Netsuite, we struggled. If you are able to help us take a look and get this fixed, would really appreciate it.

so you have a JE on your bank account - reverse it since it does not belong to your bank recon (sounds like the do not - if a collection was initiated it means cash/bank account was not involved :)). It should clear this problem. You are likely develop a new problem on another account involved in that JE when it reverses or it may clear another account reconciliation issue as well.
for a future reference - if you can avoid a JE it is the best outcome. Systematic entires (AP, AR, Inventory, etc) are the best for audit purposes and make your life much simpler.

Ok I'm going to try to figure it out with the above .. Will keep you posted! 👍🙏
