@milly You will do this by selecting the appropriate Tax Schedule on the Item Record.

markderrick: Thank you. I have selected the tax schedule on the item record but if certain items are zero rated how does netsuite know to apply the tax codes to specific line items rather than just the whole sales order. For example books are zero rated in the UK....
m
Tax codes are applied at Item level, not on the whole order.
m
But when I do an item update via CSV to map a a tax code to the item line I only get the option to apply a tax schedule. What am I doing wrong?
m
Yes, the schedule indicates the tax type - IE: Std VAT, Zero VAT, etc
m
Ah okay. So I group my Zero Tax Code for EU and GB into the same tax schedule.
And then my standard tax codes for Eu and UK into another schedule.... and then apply the tax schedule to the item...
I thought it was more complex than that. Thank you!
m
Yes, that’s the process, although schedules should contain country specific Nexuses not EU as a whole.
m
Yes that was my confusion. When referring to "Netsuite help" the tax codes are set up UK and EU. That should resolve it đŸ˜€
