@michoel Thanks for that. Perhaps I just have to create the Customer Deposit in script, once the Sales Order is created. But the funds don't seem to be coming into my bank account immediately. They are 'pending' in the bank. I want the web purchase to be credited to my own bank immediately. Perhaps there's some terminology in the webshop setup that I am not turning on.
