We can assign groups to the assigned to field on a case, could we do something similar for the sales rep field on a sales order? So a group of sales rep can be assigned to a sales order?

It sounds like you're asking about the team selling feature. When you enable that feature you can create sales teams and use those for making assignments.

I think that is what I am asking for. Where is this feature as I don't seem to see it
